Gymboree Play & Music of Rochester Hills is hiring Instructors NOW! Benefits include a flexible schedule, opportunities for advancement, and training & development. Along with teaching, this position may include front desk work and traveling to daycare centers to teach music to toddlers. The available compensation hours are Tuesday through Friday, from 9:00 to 3:00, and Saturday morning/afternoon (subject to change depending on reservations for the day).

Birthday Parties may also be scheduled from 12:00 to 18:00 on Saturdays in 2-hour increments.

Instructor Job Description

Instructors need to facilitate and perform parent-child interactive activities. Please read through the following information regarding Gymboree Classes:

Gymboree Play Classes (Babies, Crawlers, Walkers, Runners, Explorers, and Preschool Aged). Each class has a developmentally appropriate lesson plan to refer to and execute play activities on the custom designed play equipment. Each class also concludes with songs, parachute play, and bubbles. This class is the majority of our Class Schedule. Each day has 3 to 4 classes, 45 to 60 minutes each for all different groups.

It is helpful to have performance or public speaking experience; you will be teaching parent interactive classes. A pleasant singing voice and/or the confidence to sing in front of people is needed. Knowledge in current social media and digital marketing trends is appreciated.

Additional Programming May Include (To Be Learned Later)

• Music classes that involve instrument activities, singing, dancing and exploring a variety of music styles from around the world. Candidates must possess a music background to teach Gymboree Music classes.
• Art classes that offer hands-on, process-oriented activities including painting, sculpting, collage making and dress-up time, in addition to movement activities and songs that support different art themes explored.
• Gymboree on the Go, School Skills, Preschool Steps. This depends on staffing!

Instructors will also be trained and expected to perform in the following areas:

• Leading and planning Birthday Parties
• Learning the Gymboree internal booking program
• Following all Gymboree Programming and Lesson Planning
• Maintaining site standards such as cleaning and disinfecting the facility after classes, restocking retail items, taking care of any and all equipment and props used in classes
• Customer Service and having full knowledge of Gymboree's pricing and class options
• Off-site events;
  Halloween events for TOT, local festivals, etc.
• Daily Operations
• Attending designated staff meetings and trainings
• Assisting with equipment set changes every 3 weeks for 1-2 hours in addition to their schedule

NOTE: Gymboree Play & Music provides all training necessary. There is a training module that requires in-site training that is hands-on and also programs to complete  training is compensated.

KEY SKILLS AND TRAITS

• Early Childhood Education or Certified Teachers are preferred
• Experience working with children newborn to 5 years preferred
• Solid group leadership skills
• Sales experience
• Moderate computer skills
• Phone skills
• Customer service oriented
• Team player
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. and move play equipment
• Clean, physical appearance
• Outgoing, enthusiastic, gregarious, creative

HOURS

Part-time available. Flexible schedule required; classes held weekdays and on Saturday, Birthday Parties on Saturdays.

COMPENSATION

Gymboree Instructor Training should last 2 to 3 weeks. Once you are through training, your hourly wage will increase. Free Gymboree Play & Music classes for immediate family members. Bonus incentives for an increased location revenue.
