A well-established, employee-owned civil engineering and surveying firm is looking to add a skilled Land Development Engineer to its team. In this mid-senior role, you will lead technical design efforts for a collaborative group of civil engineers, planners, and CAD designers. Reporting directly to the Director of Land Development, this role is ideal for candidates with 5+ years of civil engineering experience and a strong background in site design, utility planning, and stormwater management.

The position requires hands-on project involvement from early design through permitting and occasional construction site visits. Candidates should be proficient in Civil 3D, Office 360, and have experience navigating zoning, permitting, and site plan approvals. Familiarity with K–12 or institutional design is a plus. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical design efforts for land development projects, including site layout, utility design, and stormwater management
• Guide an interdisciplinary team of engineers, planners, and CAD designers
• Prepare engineering reports, calculations, permit applications, and construction documents
• Navigate zoning ordinances and support site plan approval processes
• Coordinate with owners, developers, architects, and contractors throughout project life cycles
• Conduct site visits during construction phases to monitor progress and quality
• Provide mentorship and training for junior staff

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience; minimum 3 years in land development design
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Familiarity with site development permitting and zoning regulations
• K–12 design experience is a plus, but not required
• Strong communication and team leadership skills
