We have an immediate need for an Electronics Engineering Technician based out of our Rochester Hills, Michigan headquarters. This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will have:

Responsibilities
  • Translate system level schematics or block diagram into wire harness assembly designs and drawings
  • Fabricate and document prototype wire harness assemblies based on drawings and satisfy all acceptance criteria
  • Design, document, and manage testing harnesses for end-of-line testing of wire harness assemblies
  • Ensure all documentation is in the proper format and is stored in the location identified by the Technical Lead Systems Engineer
  • Participate in design review process
  • Specify and verify production tooling necessary for wire harness assembly components
  • Perform wire harness assembly revisions based on notes, sketches, markups, etc.
  • Documents, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence, and processes in the manufacture of final product
  • Assemble, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, knowledge of electronics and end of line testing
  • Adjust and replace defective circuitry and electronic components
  • Create Bill of Materials (BOM), a comprehensive inventory of the raw materials, assemblies, subassemblies, parts and components, as well as the quantities of each, needed to manufacture product
  • Train new assembly technicians
  • Review and regularly demonstrate understanding of the acceptance criteria for wiring harnesses (IPC-WHMA-A-620A) and full acceptance criteria for electronic assemblies (IPC-A-610).
Experience and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical Certificate in Engineering Electronics or related field preferred
  • 5 years of experience with wire harness assembly, schematics, design and testing preferred
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle electronics and architecture
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
