Culinary Supervisor – Singh Management
The Culinary Supervisor assists in the supervision of kitchen operations to ensure a high quality culinary experience for our residents. The role involves acting as liaison between the kitchen and dining room, communicating effectively, training staff, purchasing food products and supplies, and monitoring costs to meet company guidelines. The supervisor also works closely with the Culinary Service Director to maintain cleanliness, safety, and exemplary service.
Responsibilities- Purchase all food products and cleaning supplies as directed, maintaining regular stock levels.
- Stand in to cook when needed, especially during peak times and special events.
- Maintain organized production records, including special diets, time, and temperature logs.
- Process invoices promptly and collaborate with the Community Business Office Manager on billing and cost control.
- Review and understand residents’ dining restrictions.
- Manage and schedule kitchen staff to maximize efficiency.
- Ensure food consistency and quality through tasting, presence in the dining room, and feedback solicitation.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe kitchen environment.
- Assist with hiring, timekeeping, performance appraisals, and performance management of kitchen staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Service Director.
- Prior supervisory and culinary service experience in the hospitality industry; fine dining experience preferred.
- Knowledge of dining etiquette, food handling techniques, and high-level customer service.
- Prior professional cooking experience.
- Familiarity with proper food service sanitation techniques.
- Serv Safe Certification strongly preferred.
- At least two years’ experience cooking in the hospitality industry.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Constant use of manual, auditory, visual, and gross motor skills.
- Follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
- Use sense of smell and taste to recognize odors and flavors.
- Frequent exposure to hot water, garbage disposals, cleaning chemicals, heat, and cold.
- Reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push, and pull as required.
- Lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Perform repetitive movements, including simple grasping and fine manipulation.
- Occasional sitting, with constant walking and standing.
