Position Available:
Part‑Time Unarmed Security Officer - 1st Shift

Schedule:

Saturday through Sunday, 7:15 am to 3:15 pm at FANUC Corporation in Oakland County

Hourly wage: $18.00/hour

• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
• Observe activity and traffic in assigned area to enforce rules and regulations and alert visitors of infractions.
• Assist any persons in a building or on grounds needing directions or information.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
• Control traffic by directing drivers.
• Maintain organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
• Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing results needed for success.
• Complete reports by recording observations and information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
• Respond to alarms and dispatched calls; decide what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations.
• Decide when an incident requires a written report; decide which report form to use and submit to supervisor.
• Unlock buildings/doors after checking identification and compliance with policies.
• May assist law enforcement officers with crowd control and surveillance at large public events.
• Deal with uncertainty, must have the ability to make objective decisions.
• Must have emotional control and deliver communication with integrity and respect toward others.

• Previous security experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 10 hours per shift), walk, run, and climb flights of stairs
• Bend, squat, twist, and turn multiple times during your shift
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to read, write, follow direction, and communicate clearly in English
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to pass a criminal background check & drug screening
