Overview
Trainee Quantity Surveyor – Kent / London & South East (Site & Office Based) • £30,000 - £32,000
• Full UK Driving Licence Required
A growing and well-established construction contractor is looking to recruit a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of construction projects across London and the South East. This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the early stage of their Quantity Surveying career who wants hands-on project exposure, structured development, and a clear pathway into a long-term commercial role within a supportive team.
Responsibilities- Commercial & Cost Control
- Assisting with cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Measurement and take-offs from drawings
- Tracking project costs against budgets
- Supporting CVR reporting
- Valuations & Payments
- Assisting with monthly valuations and applications for payment
- Supporting assessment of subcontractor valuations
- Helping track payment and commercial notices
- Variations & Final Accounts
- Identifying and assisting with pricing variations
- Preparing supporting documentation
- Supporting final account processes
- Procurement & Subcontractor Support
- Issuing enquiries and comparing quotations
- Assisting with subcontract order documentation
- Maintaining procurement and subcontractor records
- General Commercial Support
- Contract administration and commercial record keeping
- Attending site meetings and visits
- Liaising with site and project teams
Essential
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar construction-related discipline
- Genuine interest in construction and commercial management
- Strong numerical and organisational skills
- Good communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Reliable, proactive, and keen to learn
- Full UK Driving Licence

- Previous construction or site experience
- Salary of £30,000 - £32,000
