Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are recruiting an experienced Building Services Manager on behalf of an established main contractor.
You will manage the coordination and delivery of mechanical and electrical services, working closely with consultants, specialist subcontractors and the construction team from design development through installation, commissioning and handover.
This opportunity would suit a Building Services Manager or MEP Manager with experience delivering heavily serviced industrial, advanced manufacturing or technical buildings.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage MEP design coordination, resolving interfaces with architectural and structural packages.
* Review drawings and technical submissions, ensuring approvals support procurement and site delivery.
* Coordinate specialist subcontractors throughout installation, testing and commissioning.
* Integrate building services activities into the main construction programme.
* Monitor subcontractor progress, resources and workmanship, addressing issues that could affect delivery.
* Ensure installations meet specifications, quality requirements and relevant regulations.
* Chair technical, progress and commissioning meetings with consultants and specialist contractors.
* Work with the commercial team to review design changes and their cost and programme implications.
* Plan and manage commissioning, ensuring systems are tested and operate as intended.
* Coordinate handover documentation, demonstrations and training for building users.
About you:
* Proven experience as a Building Services Manager or MEP Manager within a main contracting environment.
* Experience on industrial, advanced manufacturing or similarly complex, heavily serviced projects would be advantageous.
* Demonstrable experience managing commissioning through to successful handover.
* Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and their interfaces with the wider construction works.
* Ability to manage specialist subcontractors and maintain progress against the programme.
* Confident communication skills when working with clients, consultants and project teams.
* A relevant mechanical, electrical or building services qualification.
You will play a key role in ensuring building services are coordinated, delivered to the required standard and ready for successful operation at handover.
