We are recruiting on behalf of an alternative education provider in Rochester, Kent for an experienced Maths Programme Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Maths specialist with leadership experience who is passionate about supporting adult learners within an alternative provision. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the strategic and operational delivery of the Maths curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching, strong learner outcomes, and compliance with internal and external quality standards.
The Role
Lead and manage the Maths programme within an alternative provision setting
Oversee delivery of Functional Skills and/or GCSE Maths to adult learners
Line-manage and support Maths teaching staff, including mentoring and performance management
Drive improvements in teaching, learning, assessment, and learner achievement
Monitor learner data, attendance, progress, and outcomes to inform interventions
Lead on curriculum planning, quality assurance, and continuous improvement
Work collaboratively with senior leadership and wider education teams
The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience teaching Maths to adult learners
Experience in a programme lead, curriculum lead, or middle management role
Strong knowledge of Functional Skills and/or GCSE Maths delivery
Confident in managing staff and driving curriculum quality
Experience working in alternative provision, FE, or adult education (desirable)
Teaching qualification required; leadership qualification desirable
