Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Rochester, Kent, to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive and committed team.
The school has a strong focus on inclusion and pastoral care, supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with students requiring extra support, including those with SEN such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will play a vital role in ensuring pupils can access learning, build confidence and make meaningful progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group classroom support
Adapt learning materials to meet individual pupil needs
Deliver targeted interventions to support academic and social development
Promote positive behaviour and engagement
Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and independence
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people (school, care or youth settings)
A patient, resilient and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
This is a full-time, term-time only opportunity (8:30am–4:30pm, Monday to Friday) on a long-term basis, with the potential to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.
