Your new schoolRipplevale School and College is a thriving independent special school for 170 students aged 6 to 25 years, located in the historic town of Rochester. As part of the Ripplevale family of schools, we provide a holistic, child‑centred approach to meeting the needs of our students, most of whom have an Education and Health Care Plan. Identified needs may include ASC, dyslexia, speech, language and communication difficulties, DCD, sensory, and high levels of anxiety.
Yournew role
As a Teacher of Maths, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high‑quality lessons that inspire students and develop their confidence in mathematics. You will teach across a range of key stages, planning and delivering a curriculum that supports both attainment and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver effective, differentiated Maths lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear feedback to support achievement
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and high expectations
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including departmental initiatives and extracurricular activities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve teaching and learning standards
To thrive in this role, you will be a motivated and passionate Maths teacher with a commitment to student success and high standards of teaching. You will ideally have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A degree in Mathematics or a related subject
- Experience teaching Maths at secondary level (including ECTs/NQTs encouraged to apply)
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners of all abilities
- A proactive, reflective approach to teaching and professional development
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- A competitive salary of £32,916 – £45,352 depending on experience
