SUMMARY
Responsible for providing clinical support to medical providers in a pulmonary / sleep medicine physician practice setting and under the direction of a physician. Support provided must be within the employee’s education, experience, and scope of clinical practice; and will include but not be limited to triaging patient & referring physician phone calls, rooming patients in exam rooms, taking vital signs, collecting & documenting pertinent patient information, conducting tests, providing patient equipment, and providing patient & family education.
The position provides clerical support on an as‑needed basis. Provide superior customer service by modeling the Brand Promise and Core Values.

SCHEDULENight shift; 20 hours per week, 8:00 p.m.
- 6:30 a.m. Every other weekend or at least one weekend day each week
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent certificate
- Required
Licensure/Certification Skill:- New York State Respiratory Therapist license with current registration, including credentials received prior to 9/1993
- New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician (RTT) license AND National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) active credentials as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
- 1 year of pulmonary function testing experience preferred
- PFT certification preferred
- Effectively triages phone calls from patients and referring physicians.
- Greets patients, collects pertinent information (including CPAP performance and compliance data for sleep medicine patients), and prepares them for examination by the medical providers.
- Effectively and efficiently conducts pulmonary function and other testing consistent with the scope of practice, training, and experience.
- Provides patients with prescribed equipment and supplies; facilitates CPAP therapy with durable medical equipment (DME) providers, and provides related patient/family education regarding use.
- Provides patient/family education regarding pulmonary diseases, sleep disorders, testing, treatments, and behavior modification.
- Coordinate care with other providers (including DME providers), diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitation services.
- Supports clinical activities of the practice, which include but are not limited to: meeting with CPAP equipment representatives regarding new and updated equipment, maintaining supplies inventories, and checking/maintaining equipment.
- Provides assistance to clerical staff on an as‑needed basis.

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects;
Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
