SUMMARY
As a Central Bed Coordinator, your attentiveness, organization, and planning skills greatly enhance the efficiency of hospital bed utilization and a safe, patient-focused environment.

ATTRIBUTES- Minimum of five (5) years of administrative office experience in healthcare preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- High level of proficiency with PC, software applications and reporting tools
- Previous experience in CMS, Medicaid/Medicare billing and other regulatory processes is a plus
- Bilingual preferred
- Bed Management. Monitor and manage patient bed needs as it pertains to admitted patient placement; track all new admissions for the procurement and communication of bed assignment for the adult/pediatric – medical/surgical population from various entry points; real time management of discharges, create open bed resources, elevate when demand exceeds standard bed capacity; coordinate bed clean priority changes to Environmental Services
- Patient Care. Round on various floors, validating patient movement and patient flow, round on units as needed to gain insight on daily bed issues; monitor isolation bed needs and elevate to Infection Prevention Team if co-habitations might be needed
- Communication. Collaborate with other disciplines and departments to maximize the use of beds and facilitate patient movement; act as a resource to units when Care Connect issues arise during patient movements; communicate with Administrative Clinical Coordinator on a daily basis regarding bed availability, census status, overcapacity triggers and escalations
- High School Diploma or 2‑year degree with minimum of 5 years administrative office experience in health care preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
- High level of proficiency with PC, software applications, and reporting tools
- May need previous experience in CMS, Medicaid/Medicare billing, and other regulatory processes
- Bilingual preferred
