HGV Technician

Salary:

Up to £48,193 per annum (£23.17 p/h plus night allowance + £0.50 p/h, HGV licence bonus, overtime, Sundays, Bank Holiday rates, plus additional Veolia benefits). Sign‑on and retention bonus of £3,000.

Hours:

40 hours per week (Monday‑Friday, night shift 6pm‑4am).

• Repair and maintain the Veolia fleet, third‑party vehicles and plant in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
• Run diagnostics on vehicles using a range of equipment (hydraulic, electrical, pneumatics).
• Perform general work as required by the Workshop Management Team.
• Work within Health & Safety regulations and be responsible for your safety and that of those around you.
• Ensure all necessary paperwork and timesheets are completed accurately.
• Carry out HGV MOT inspections and preparations.
• Complete roadside repairs when necessary (training provided).

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or HGV Technician (preferably with an NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Qualification).
• Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Hold an HGV driving licence (preferred but not essential).
• Supply your own comprehensive tool kit (diagnostic equipment and specialised tools provided by Veolia).
• IRTEC licence preferable (training can be provided).
