Pearson Whiffin Recruitment is currently working with a well-established manufacturing business based in the Rochester area, who are looking to strengthen their production team with an experienced Digital Print Operator on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is a hands-on role within a busy, fast-paced print environment, suited to someone who enjoys working with modern digital press equipment and takes real pride in producing high-quality output. The business is going through a period of change and investment, making this a great time to join and establish yourself long-term.

The role:

• Working as part of a close-knit production team, you ll be responsible for operating digital print machinery and ensuring jobs are delivered accurately, efficiently and to the required quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Setting up and running digital print presses, adjusting settings to meet job specifications
• Interpreting job instructions, artwork and production requirements
• Monitoring print quality, colour accuracy and registration throughout production runs
• Carrying out routine cleaning, checks and basic maintenance to keep machines running smoothly
• Troubleshooting issues to minimise downtime and maintain workflow
• Recording production information, materials usage and waste
• Working closely with pre-press, finishing and production colleagues to keep jobs moving

Shifts & environment:

• A rotating AM / PM shift pattern is in place, with permanent night shifts also available
• Enhanced rates apply for night work, with overtime paid at premium rates
• This is a production environment with frequent changeovers, where attention to detail and reliability are essential

What we re looking for:

• Previous experience operating digital print equipment (HP Indigo experience is highly desirable, but not essential)
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset
• Good mechanical aptitude and confidence working with machinery
• Basic IT skills and the ability to follow technical instructions
• A positive, hands-on attitude and willingness to be flexible across shifts
• Comfortable with manual handling and standing for long periods
