Hours:
6pm-6am (4 on, 4 off). Salary: £25k + Night allowance: £1,800

Our client, a well‑established food manufacturer, is seeking a dedicated QA Technician to oversee GMP, plant hygiene, audits, and product quality across the site. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key technical role where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities- Daily GMP audits across the warehouse, factory exterior, and office block
- Regular checks on packing lines to ensure products meet specifications
- Verification of metal detectors, weight checkers, and line equipment
- Ensuring date coding and labelling accuracy
- Conducting traceability tests
- Retaining and quality‑checking daily production samples
- Testing raw materials and packaging quality
- Supplier technical reviews
- Routine quality checks, including metal detection, weights, seals, barcodes, dates, coding, alignment, and case contents
- Taking immediate action on any non‑conformance
- Accurate completion of all documentation
- Supporting batch end procedures and stock reconciliation
- Ensuring production deadlines are met Helping minimise waste
- Maintaining a tidy and safe work area
- Assisting with training once competent
- Supporting non‑conformance investigations
- Carrying out additional duties as reasonably required
- Previous QA or food handling experience is desirable
- An intermediate food hygiene and understanding of HACCP principles is desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT skills
- Flexibility to cover shifts, absence, and overtime
- Numerate, literate, and able to follow instructions
- Full in‑house training provided
