Our client is a well-established precision engineering manufacturer supplying high-quality components to a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to strengthen their machine shop team.

The Role
You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery to achieve production targets while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
 
* Set and operate Mori Seiki, Muratec and Citizen CNC machines
 
* Carry out machine changeovers and production runs
 
* Work from engineering drawings, works orders and material specifications
 
* Set and operate lathes and machining centres using Fanuc and Mitsubishi control systems
 
* Modify and create CNC programmes as required
 
* Produce components to strict tolerances and quality standards
 
* Complete inspections using micrometres, Verniers, height gauges and other measuring equipment
 
* Record quality and production data accurately
 
* Conduct daily machine checks and routine maintenance activities
 
* Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles
 
* Adhere to all health, safety and quality procedures
What We Need from You
 
* GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths
 
* Relevant engineering apprenticeship
 
* Minimum three years' CNC setting and operating experience
 
* Previous manufacturing environment experience
 
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
 
* Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills
 
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
 
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
 
* Flexible approach to shift work

Desirable Experience
 
* CNC programming qualification
 
* Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls experience
 
* Knowledge of Mori Seiki, Citizen and Muratec machinery
