Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced
Production Engineer
to join our established
industrial machine shop
. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, optimisation, and continuous improvement of machining and manufacturing processes to ensure operational excellence, product quality, and cost efficiency.

This position requires a technically proficient engineer with a strong background in CNC and conventional machining, process engineering, and lean manufacturing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes for machining, welding and fittings areas.
• Analyse process performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focusing on productivity, quality and cost reduction.
• Support the introduction of new products and processes as required.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including work instructions, control plans, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure manufacturing feasibility and efficiency.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures for production issues.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations in all aspects of production engineering.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
• Proven experience in a precision machining or industrial manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of CNC programming principles, tooling, materials, and machining processes.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies.
• Competency in CAD/CAM systems and ERP or MRP software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
