Are you an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity within a busy manufacturing environment?
We are currently recruiting for a Transfer Operator to join a fast-paced production and warehouse team. This is a hands-on role where you will play an important part in ensuring raw materials and finished products are transferred safely and efficiently between production, packing and warehouse areas.
The RoleAs a Transfer Operator, you will be responsible for moving processed raw materials from internal silos to the correct packing lines, as well as transferring finished, palletised goods from production into the warehouse.
You will work closely with production, packing and warehouse teams to ensure materials and products are available where they are needed, helping to minimise production delays and maintain a safe, organised working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Transfer processed raw materials from internal silos to the correct packing lines.
- Monitor silo levels and liaise with production and process teams to maintain a continuous supply of materials.
- Move finished, palletised goods from packing lines into the correct warehouse locations.
- Operate a Counterbalance Forklift safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures.
- Complete daily forklift checks and report any faults or defects promptly.
- Ensure products are stacked, stored and moved correctly to minimise damage and waste.
- Follow FIFO/FEFO stock rotation requirements.
- Accurately label, record and track pallet movements.
- Support stocktakes and stock checks when required.
- Assist with packing, stacking and production line activities as required.
- Carry out routine cleaning of machinery and remove waste from production areas.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene and housekeeping.
- Report hazards, near misses and accidents immediately.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues across production, packing and warehouse teams.
- Be flexible and willing to cross-train on different equipment and production areas.
- Previous experience working within a production, manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- A valid 1.5 tonne Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
- Proven practical experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift following qualification.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to follow instructions while also using your own initiative.
- A strong attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- A flexible approach to work and willingness to support different areas of the operation.
