MCH are looking for a motivated and dynamic Band 6 Bladder and Bowel Nurse to join our friendly specialist bladder and bowel team.
This exciting opportunity working with adults experiencing bladder and bowel dysfunction has arisen and we have funding for a part time Band 6 nurse to support patients across community settings within Medway.
The role involves providing specialist assessment, treatment, education, and ongoing management for patients with bladder and bowel conditions, supporting individuals to improve their quality of life and maintain independence. The service covers patients in community clinics, care homes, and their own homes, working closely with the wider locality team. The post holder will also play a key role in supporting catheter clinics and advising community teams on best practice catheter care and management.
We are looking for a team member who has new ideas, is innovative and will contribute to service development.
Main duties of the job- To practise autonomously as an expert practitioner within the Bladder and Bowel Service, working collaboratively with services such as Community Nursing and the wider multidisciplinary partners to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
- To lead on the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients experiencing bladder, bowel and pelvic floor dysfunction, ensuring evidence-based interventions that improve clinical outcomes, patient experience, and quality of life across the local population.
- To provide operational and professional leadership to the Bladder and Bowel Team, with support from the relevant Clinical Nurse Manager, including responsibility for staff management, clinical supervision, workforce development, service improvement, and clinical governance.
- To contribute strategically to the ongoing development of the service, promoting innovation, best practice, and compliance with local and national standards.
