Hours

Monday – Friday 06:00 am – 04:00 pm (50‑hour week)

Salary

£12.60 ph / £32,760 basic annually. Overtime paid at time and a half (£18.90). Night work bonus £45. Call‑out bonus £30 on weekdays, £45 on weekends.

Principle Duties and Accountabilities

• Be flexible in approach to work and undertake ad‑hoc duties when your vehicle is off‑road or when assisting other field teams

Roles and Responsibilities

• Drive and operate specialist jetting tankers (Super Suction Jetting Tankers, Combination Jetting Tankers – Class 2, CPC required)
• Attend emergency call‑outs dealing with sewer blockages, flooding and pollution
• Work on private and public land in strict accordance with statutory health, safety and environmental procedures
• Undertake vehicle checks at the start and finish of each shift
• Ensure jobs are documented correctly
• Report all defects, accidents and near‑misses immediately to Line Manager
• Maintain the driver’s logbook in compliance with MOT rules and procedures
• Ensure PPE remains fit for purpose
• Keep vehicle and equipment washed down weekly, free from rubbish in hoses, toolboxes and cab
• Attend training as required

Health & Safety

• Take reasonable care for your health and safety, and for others affected by your acts or omissions
• Co‑operate with the employer or persons under statutory duties to enable those duties to be performed or complied with

Drainage Engineer (Combi) Health And Safety Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with the company health and safety policy
• Influence and promote a positive health, safety culture, leading by example
• Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with legislative, company requirements, and RAMS
• Carry out comprehensive site documentation, VPRs and DRAs for every job and update as required
• Report all health, safety and environmental incidents to Line Manager within 2 hours

Qualifications / Competency

• HGV Class 1/2 driving licence
• ADR licence desired
• Ability to work within controlled guidelines and environmental regulations
• Polite and friendly public interaction
• Able to work with minimal supervision and receive remote instructions
• Experience with liquid waste products in water utility/environmental services sector desirable (knowledge of safe street works preferred)
• NRSWA Unit 2 desired
• High pressure water jetting desired
• Emergency First Aid (in‑house training)
• First Aid at Work (in‑house training)
• Manual Handling (in‑house training)
• Asbestos Awareness (UKATA)
• Standpipe usage competence
