Class 1 ADR Driver (Tanker) – Temp to Perm

Location:

Rochester, Kent

£18.25 per hour + Night Out Allowances

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 7:00 PM start. Weekends off.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent position with a nationally recognised logistics provider specialising in the safe transportation of bulk gases across the UK.

The Role

As a Class 1 ADR Driver, you will be responsible for transporting bulk gas products between customer sites and distribution locations nationwide. This is primarily a trunking role involving long‑distance driving, night starts, and occasional nights away, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Class 1 (C+E) tanker vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Transport bulk gas products throughout the UK
  • Complete trunking runs between customer and depot locations
  • Manage ADR loads in full compliance with regulations
  • Operate tanker discharge systems where required
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
  • Complete delivery documentation and electronic POD systems
  • Follow all PPE, health & safety, and company procedures
  • Maintain communication with transport and planning teams
What We're Looking For Essential Requirements
  • Full UK Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence
  • Valid ADR Licence including Tanks
  • Driver CPC Qualification
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Good understanding of UK driving regulations
  • Professional and safety‑focused approach
Preferred Experience
  • Previous ADR tanker driving experience
  • 2+ years of Class 1 driving experience
  • Experience transporting hazardous goods
  • Newly qualified ADR drivers are encouraged to apply with full support and ongoing development
Licence Criteria

Maximum 6 penalty points.

No DD, DR, CD or IN endorsements.
