Job Title: Program Coordinator in Counseling
Job Description Summary
A Program Coordinator for the Department of Counseling provides clinical supervision for students enrolled in CNS 6960, Practicum in Counseling. Responsibilities for Program Coordinators include meeting with practicum students (supervises) one time per week for one hour to review recorded clinical cases, providing clinical supervision, and reviewing all required documents. Additional requirements include following Instructor syllabi and SEHS Counseling Center policy, maintaining ongoing communication with both Instructor and the Counseling Center Coordinator, responding to emergency client situations, assisting the instructor with providing supervisee midterm and final evaluations, and maintaining ethical & professional standards as a supervisor and for supervises.
The review of applications is ongoing and continuous. Position availability varies by semester, depending on the needs of the department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree, preferably in counseling;
- Relevant certifications and/or licenses;
- Minimum of two years of pertinent professional experience in the specialty area in which the student is enrolled;
- Knowledge of the program’s expectations, requirements, and evaluation procedures for students;
- Either received or are participating in relevant training in counseling supervision;
- Willingness to use a web-based learning management system;
- Familiarity with navigating video conferencing platforms (such as Zoom) with the intent to use in some classroom or other interpersonal settings;
