This posting is for Undergraduate Students who have a Confirmed Federal Work-Study award for the Fall 2025 / Winter 2026 academic semesters! If you do not have a confirmed Federal Work-Study (FWS) award for Fall 2025 / Winter 2026, please do not apply for this position.

Graduate students are not eligible for Federal Work-Study so are not eligible for this position.

Pedagogical Partner Student Fellow (work-study)

Position Overview

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) is seeking four students to serve as Student Fellows in the Pedagogical Partnerships Program, an initiative that enhances teaching and learning through collaborative dialogue between students and faculty. In this role, you will work closely with faculty partners to provide thoughtful feedback on teaching and learning practices through classroom observations, focus groups, and resource creation.

This position emphasizes meaningful engagement with both classroom learning environments and faculty professional development, giving you an opportunity to directly shape the student experience at Oakland University.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in program orientation and training sessions
  • Conduct 3 data-collection sessions such as:
    • Classroom observations
    • Student focus groups
    • Collection and synthesis of feedback or resources
  • Attend meetings or presentations to discuss findings and offer insights
  • Document observations and insights in a clear, constructive manner
  • Maintain confidentiality and communicate professionally with faculty partners and program staff

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled Oakland University student (undergraduate or graduate)
  • Interest in teaching, learning, and inclusive education
  • Attentive listener with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to provide constructive, respectful feedback
  • Organized and reliable, able to manage limited but high-impact commitments
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar)

Hours

  • Fall and Winter Semester
  • Hours are flexible and may fluctuate slightly depending on program activity levels
