Mammography Technologist - PRN

GENERAL SUMMARY

Shift: PRN, hours per week will vary, day shift. Provides mammography imaging services.

Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment and perform various mammography related procedures.
• Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Explain procedures and educate patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
• Develop and evaluate the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Ensure prompt submission of high‑quality images and documents to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
• Ensure equipment is properly functioning; report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
• One or more of the following required:

• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
