Field Representative, Insurance Inspections (Rochester Michigan)
Join Verisk as a Field Representative and bring your eye for detail and organizational skills to work in the field. You’ll visit diverse commercial sites, assess risk and safety measures, and deliver insights that directly impact insurance decisions.
Responsibilities- Evaluate commercial business sites for multiple lines of insurance coverage, loss prevention and risk assessment.
- Assist insurers in policy underwriting and pricing decisions through onsite observations and reporting.
- Schedule and conduct on‑site visits and produce accurate, customer‑centric reports.
- Identify business operations, construction materials, fire protection systems, safety measures and develop recommendations for safety and loss control.
- Represent Verisk professionally via phone, in person and written correspondence.
- Plan and route visits to maximize efficiency with minimal direct supervision.
- Record and observe details, measurements, gather data and map sites.
- Operate in various environments and weather conditions, often walking, climbing stairs, sometimes using ladders.
- Fully paid training, mentoring and continuous development.
- Company‑furnished computer hardware, software and phone.
- Fleet vehicle, gas card and maintenance card.
- Health insurance, retirement plan, disability benefits and paid time off.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Risk Management, Insurance, Construction Management, Property and Liability Insurance, Safety.
- Preferred experience in insurance loss control, underwriting, claims, commercial building construction, compliance or property inspections.
- Excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with technology such as laptops, mobile devices, MS Office and mobile applications; aptitude for functional math.
- Self‑motivated planning and goal‑setting, efficient route planning, scheduling and documentation.
- Ability to work safely in varied environments, including walking, standing, climbing stairs and occasional ladder use.
- Professional designations (CFPS, CSP, ARM, ALCM, NFPA, CPCU) are advantageous.
