- Bachelor’s degree required in healthcare administration, higher education, business, public health, public administration, or related field.
- A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible project management experience.
- Experience managing complex, multi-organizational strategic initiatives.
- Outstanding communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Master’s degree preferred in healthcare administration, higher education, business, public health, public administration, or related field.
- Experience with in an Academic Medical Center, teaching hospital, health system, or research-intensive university.
- PMP certification preferred.
Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
Position PurposeThe Executive Project Manager provides project management leadership for complex, high-priority initiatives involving Oakland University (OU), Corewell Health East ( CHE ), and the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine ( OUWB ). The position is responsible for bringing structure, coordination, accountability, and momentum to large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders, work streams, and organizational priorities.
The initial focus of the position will be supporting the strategic partnership between OU and CHE and the work associated with advancing a nationally recognized Academic Medical Center ( AMC ). In this capacity, the Executive Project Manager will coordinate project plans, timelines, deliverables, governance activities, and cross-functional work streams spanning academic, clinical, research, education, finance, legal, and operational areas.
More broadly, the position requires a highly skilled project manager who can translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, facilitate collaboration across complex organizations, identify and address risks and dependencies, and ensure projects remain aligned, organized, and on schedule.
