Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in kinesiology, human movement science, biomechanics, exercise physiology, physical therapy, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience conducting research or clinical work with individuals with Type 2 Diabetes.
- Hands‑on experience with clinical diagnostic procedures, including:
- Peripheral nerve conduction testing
- Retinopathy‑related assessment procedures
- Vestibular function evaluation
- Experience working with human research participants in a clinical or academic setting.
- Ability to follow research protocols, maintain accurate records, and interact professionally with research participants.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced graduate training (e.g., doctoral‑level coursework or completed Ph.D.) in a related discipline.
- Research productivity including manuscripts, conference presentations, or contribution to grant‑funded projects.
- Experience using biomechanical and physiological measurement tools (e.g., force plates, sensory testing equipment, motion capture).
- Proficiency with data analysis tools such as MATLAB, Python, SPSS, or equivalent.
- Experience working in an academic research laboratory environment and mentoring students.
Position Purpose
Staff Scientist in Human Movement Sciences to support an ongoing research program examining sensorimotor control of balance in adults with Type 2 Diabetes
. This position requires experience working with patient populations affected by metabolic disease and familiarity with clinical assessments relevant to sensory and vestibular function.
Job Duties
- Assist with human‑subject data collection, clinical diagnostic procedures, laboratory operations, and dissemination of research outcomes.
