Position Summary

Under the direction of the foreperson, paving equipment operators will be responsible for operating several types of road construction equipment safely and efficiently. This includes asphalt paver, paver screed, steel drum roller, rubber tire roller, skid steer, shaping tractor, power broom, and plate tampers. On‑the‑job training will provide the knowledge and skills to become a productive member of one of our crews with the potential for advancement opportunities.

This is a full‑time seasonal position, working May through November (weather permitting). The role requires overtime and some Saturdays, with local and regional travel opportunities available.

Qualifications

• One or more years operating road construction equipment or a technical school degree in Heavy Equipment Operation (preferred: Asphalt Paver, Paver Screed, Steel Drum Roller)
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to obtain CDL if required
• Physical ability to work in all seasonal weather and environmental conditions in a moving highway work zone
• Ability to listen, take direction and work as a team member while helping to train less experienced employees
