Job Summary/Description
“Midwest Access” is unlike any show in the Rochester, Minnesota TV market. Airing weekdays at 4 p.m., “Midwest Access” covers everything from healthy eating to the newest business opening in our area. The show is prerecorded in-studio, but often done LIVE entirely on-location from communities and events in Southeastern Minnesota and Northeastern Iowa. We expect the producer/videographer of this show to work together with the show’s anchor in developing engaging and dynamic LIVE moments.
This position requires solid content editing skills on all types of daily lifestyle stories and must be able to manage their time effectively, be a meticulous planner, and have an eye on what’s important to our viewers. The producer/videographer is a creative driver behind Midwest Access. This person plans, shoots, and edits compelling content and ensures the show runs smoothly each day.
While the role is primarily focused on producing and video work, there are opportunities for motivated candidates to occasionally appear on air as a contributor or fill-in host.

- Produce and line-produce daily show segments
- Pitching and turning relevant segments and booking guests
- Shooting, writing, editing scripts, and video and other visual elements daily
- Collaborating with the show anchor on travel show ideas and themes
- Managing the show planner and keeping production on track
- Posting in-depth and engaging web articles for each segment and story featured in the show
- Posting content to KTTC social media platforms
- Cutting down relevant interviews into shorter clips for other newscasts
- Strong creativity
- Knowledge of AP writing style
- Working knowledge of current events and community issues
- Time management is a priority
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills – both in writing and interpersonally with coworkers and guests
- Live reporting experience is a plus, but not required
Salary/Wage: $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
