As a Psychiatrist at Sagent Behavioral Health, formerly known as (Nystrom & Associates, Ltd.), you will be an important part of a vibrant and dynamic outpatient mental health provider making important contributions to the mental health of our local communities. You will focus on diagnosing, treating, and preventing mental illnesses and emotional disorders. You will evaluate patients' mental and physical well-being, create personalized treatment plans, and prescribe medication as needed.

This role plays a crucial part in supporting patients' needs and promoting improved mental health outcomes. Additionally, an ideal candidate would have an interest in clinical leadership, policy and procedure development, and teaching and supervision as part of their scheduled activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychiatric diagnostic assessments, evaluates need for medications, and prescribe as indicated.
  • Makes urgent assessments of person in crisis, evaluating as appropriate
  • Collaborate with others involved in treatment planning.
  • Document all patient interactions, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and medication changes in compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards.
  • Attend and participate in clinical staff meetings and consultations.
  • Ensure a patient-centered approach by fostering a supportive and empathetic therapeutic environment.
Requirements:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited college or university.
  • Current active and unrestricted State of Minnesota medical license and board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards governing care delivery and operations.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft Office products and experience with Electronic Health Records.
