Responsibilities

The Department of Pediatrics at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, is seeking a full‑time Pediatrician to join our Community Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine Division, Primary Care Practice in Rochester, MN. The Division is seeking candidates who are board certified in Adolescent Medicine and who have interest and expertise in adolescent medical gynecology. The new faculty member would receive a dual appointment in the Division of Pediatric & Adolescent Reproductive Health and would assist with contraception counseling and treating adolescents with sexually transmitted diseases.

Opportunities in other adolescent specialties (i.e. eating disorders, mental health, etc.) also exist depending on the interests and expertise of the candidate.

As a Pediatrician at Mayo Clinic, you'll have immediate access to consultation and collaboration with pediatric subspecialists to provide the best possible care to your patients every day. There are endless opportunities to pursue your interests with resources available to support you. The primary care practice consists of 24 physicians and 13 nurse practitioners, who comprise the Division of Community Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine (CPAM), one of 19 divisions in the Department of Pediatrics at Mayo Clinic.

CPAM is an active, collaborative partner with Mayo Clinic’s other primary care practices of internal medicine and family medicine.

This innovative division is leading the care impacting 40,000 infants, children, and adolescents in the greater Rochester area with a focus on team‑based care models and population health. It places a strong emphasis on translating scholarship into practice, improving outcomes and patient experience, as well as supporting community engagement with long‑standing relationships with the county public health service and local school districts.

The division aims to improve the health of all children, with a keen awareness of the need to especially improve healthcare delivery to children with special health care needs including those with complex chronic medical conditions and mental health conditions as well as those children who are socio‑economically disadvantaged.

Responsibilities will include direct patient care, as well as opportunities for medical student and resident education, precepting medical students from the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and teaching and supervising our 43 member, 3‑year pediatric residency. We are a multi‑shielded group with emphasis on practice, education, quality and research, therefore opportunities in these areas are many. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise, experience and/or interest in a role in research, education, quality improvement and/or enhancing subspecialty clinics within primary care.
