Gilbane is seeking a Project Controls Specialist II
. This individual will support the cost and schedule requirements of multiple mid-sized projects or a single large project, including day-to-day interface with project management, client and contractor personnel.

Responsibilities- Actively review and understand the key aspects of the project contract. With guidance from lead project control staff, assist with cost controls and planning/scheduling activities that support the project requirements.
- Execute proper controls to monitor and communicate budget, actuals, forecast costs, labor hours, and quantities for projects.
- Identify and document risk areas and their cost impact; follow through to support mitigation.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with the change control procedure. Support change identification, documentation, schedule fragments, and cost estimation.
- Collect and input timely cost data for cost report development.
- Consolidate performance data to support performance measurement, data analysis, and cost forecasting.
- Develop accurate and timely project cost forecasts with participation of other project controls staff; contribute to overall project control.
- Identify cost trends and work with lead cost staff to prepare action recommendations and include trends in forecasts.
- Analyze variances and determine corrective actions; create client and internal status reports communicating cost status and trends, under the direction of lead project controls staff.
- Collaborate with the scheduling group to perform schedule risk analysis and determine related cost impacts.
- Develop labor hour forecasts with the participation of lead staff and project management; prepare schedule analysis narratives with corrective action recommendations.
- Create client and internal status reports that communicate schedule status and critical path; define corrective actions and issue reports under the direction of lead project controls staff.
- Gain practical field experience to develop an understanding of construction.
- BS or AA in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, Architecture or related field
- 3-8 years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Deploy and implement standard project control procedures following Division/Business Unit procedures
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced project controls staff in cost control procedures and guidelines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; self-sufficient with scheduling and cost management software such as Primavera P6, Procore, etc.
- Ability to obtain OSHA 10-hour safety certification
Salary ranges are determined by location, skills, education, and experience. For Minnesota, the range is $88,700 - $122,000 plus benefits.
