ResponsibilitiesThe Summer Laboratory Science Program offers chemistry, biological science, and medical laboratory science majors the opportunity to explore career options and gain experience in the clinical laboratory environment. As a participant you will work in one of our clinical testing laboratories specializing in areas such as biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, genetics, transfusion medicine, anatomic pathology, or hematopathology. Tasks include aliquoting, preparing, and centrifuging biological specimens, clerical duties, maintaining supply inventory, filing, stocking, cleaning, and special projects.
This is a 10‑week paid work experience that does not qualify as an internship.
Locations:
Minnesota – Austin, Mankato, Red Wing, Rochester;
Wisconsin – Eau Claire, La Crosse. The program runs June‑August 2026 (exact dates to be provided). Housing is not provided.
- Completion of at least 90 semester hours (or equivalent) toward a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biological Science, or Medical Laboratory Science
- Expected graduation date of Winter 2026 or Spring 2027
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Candidates placed in Austin, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Mankato, or Red Wing must be seeking a degree in Clinical Lab Science or Medical Lab Science
