Job Summary:

The Director of Clinical Informatics provides strategic clinical leadership and informatics oversight across Cornerstone’s senior living communities. This role bridges clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and health information systems to ensure accurate documentation, data integrity, and adherence to state and federal clinical regulations.

The Director of Clinical Informatics is responsible for the implementation, optimization, and ongoing evaluation of clinical systems, workflows, and reporting to support high-quality resident care and operational excellence. This position partners closely with community clinical leaders to ensure policies, procedures, and care delivery models align with regulatory standards and best practices.

In addition, the Director of Clinical Informatics supports the development, monitoring, and evaluation of home care and clinical programs, ensuring consistent, compliant, and data-driven care delivery across assigned campuses. This role requires strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate clinical requirements into effective system and process solutions.

The Director of Clinical Informatics works collaboratively with and takes direction from the Corporate Director of Clinical, serving as a key clinical and data resource to support continuous quality improvement, survey readiness, and resident outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of clinical information systems (EHR/EMAR, incident reporting, assessment tools, and quality dashboards).
  • Ensure clinical documentation workflows support accurate, timely, and compliant resident records across all communities.
  • Serve as the clinical subject matter expert for system configuration, upgrades, and clinical content within health information systems.
  • Translate clinical, regulatory, and operational needs into system functionality and standardized workflows.
  • Monitor compliance with state and federal clinical regulations across assigned communities.
  • Support survey preparation, response planning, and corrective action implementation related to clinical documentation and systems.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and clinical documentation practices align with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Track and trend clinical compliance indicators and proactively address areas of risk.
  • Develop and monitor clinical quality metrics, dashboards, and reports to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Analyze clinical data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement in resident care and outcomes.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to implement quality improvement initiatives based on data findings.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all clinical platforms.
  • Support the implementation and evaluation of home care and other clinical programs to ensure consistent delivery of care.
  • Monitor adherence to clinical program standards, care models, and documentation requirements.
  • Assist with the development and refinement of clinical policies, procedures, and care pathways.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to community clinical leaders and staff on clinical systems, documentation standards, and best practices.
  • Develop training materials, guides, and workflows to promote consistent system use.
  • Serve as a resource for troubleshooting clinical system issues and workflow challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with the Corporate Director of Clinical, Operations, IT, and community leadership teams.
