Qualifications:
- Satisfactory completion of an accrediting Diagnostic Sonography Program
- American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) accreditation
- BLS certification
- Must be self-directed and organized
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs diagnostic echo sonography as described above: transthoracic, transesophageal with, or without contract, and stress testing when indicated.
- Alerts nursing staff of imaging tests that require nursing administration of contrast and to provide assessments for all stress echocardiograms.
- Collaborates with nursing, exercise physiologists, and cardiologists for appropriate direction, testing indications, and anticipated patient care needs during imaging.
- Stocks rooms, orders supplies, and helps to maintain all imaging equipment.
- Participates in daily huddles.
- Participates in regular education and training.
- Participates in departmental registry activities as needed.
- Participates with and assists with departmental accreditation activities.
- Provides echocardiography updates and education to nursing, exercise physiologists, and other staff to increase collaborative learning.
- Other duties as assigned.
