As a Sterile Processing Technician, you playan important rolein patient care by cleaning, preparing, and sterilizing the instruments used in surgical procedures. While you will not work directly with patients, your work ensures operating room staff have the tools they need to provide safe, effective treatment.
Training- No prior healthcare experience is required

- Clean, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Inspect and assemble instruments for procedures
- Prepare and deliver supplies to operating room staff
- Maintain inventory and organize storage areas
- Operate sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves and instrument washers (training provided)
- Use computer systems to track instruments and sterilization processes
During the selection process, you willparticipatein a virtual (pre-recorded) OnDemand interview that will need to be completed within
72 hoursof the request.
During the interview:
- A question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider your response
- You may re-record your answer to each question
- Mayo Clinic will only review your final recording
Completed interviews will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member, and you will be notifiedofnextsteps as appropriate.
