• Lead and coach engineering teams, driving high quality, performance and resilience in software.
• Own the technical roadmap for one of the four key Ubuntu teams:
  Foundations, Server, Desktop or Debcrafters.
• Design, build and ship high quality, performant software in Rust, Go, Python and other languages.
• Set the vision and strategy for Ubuntu, working closely with product management.
• Optimise the distribution for performance, reliability, and security.
• Plan, estimate and execute engineering projects, taking responsibility for the full delivery cycle.
• Contribute to upstream and neighbouring open source projects and author technical documentation.

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling alternative narrative.
• Significant experience with Rust, Go, Python, Flutter or C/C++.
• Experience designing, building and shipping high quality, performance‑centric software.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and coaching skills.
• Demonstrated passion for open source software and community contribution.
• Professional written and spoken English.
