The Stylist engages with guests, consults on their hair care needs, and recommends products and services. The Stylist delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look and supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) on performance, people, and process.

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing where applicable.
• Meet or exceed sales goal of $800 average weekly sales and productivity goals for hair services, contributing to store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
• Demonstrate business acumen by understanding drivers and identifying growth opportunities.
• Conduct product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and enhance the guest service experience.
• Support execution of in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services; be knowledgeable about ingredients, benefits, and application.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and targeted recommendations.
• Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Partner with skin therapists and the retail team for a total‑store experience.
• Build professional peer and brand partner relationships to deliver exceptional guest service.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program with guests in salon and salesfloor.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.

• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services; comply with state board guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for consistency.
• Use booking systems to schedule clients for return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain outstanding store operational standards—cleanliness of salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and any other assigned area.
• Adhere to Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant salon experience is preferred.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques across all service categories.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals needed for technical work.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell pro hair care and makeup products.
• Developed communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs during shift.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching during shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift.
• Continuous and/or frequent coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
