Job Description

The Program Manager will be a key participant in pre‑award strategy development and proposal activities. The role supports the preparation of proposals, program business plans, and statements of work. The manager translates customer requirements into product and service specifications and budgets, serves as the primary program interface with the customer, and ensures expectations are consistently matched with contractual obligations throughout the program.

This senior‑level position directs all phases of customer programs from inception through completion, delivering programs on schedule and within budget while coordinating resources and maintaining the master project plan. The role also supports the Technical Lead in establishing IRAD activities to position future hypersonics initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Key participant in pre‑award strategy development and proposal activities.
  • Supports preparation of proposals, program business plans, and statements of work.
  • Translates customer requirements into product and service specifications and budgets.
  • Primary program interface with the customer and manages customer expectations in alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Manages all program activities, including coordination and direction of program review sessions with customers and internal functional groups.
  • Supports the Technical Lead in establishing IRAD activities for hypersonics.
  • Directs all phases of customer programs from inception through completion, ensuring delivery on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinates with functional managers to secure resources needed to meet program objectives.
  • Assumes lead accountability for developing and maintaining the master project plan/roadmap, and for achieving project milestones and schedule.
  • Influences line functions and customers to deliver required outputs to meet project milestones on time.

Experience / Education / Skills

Qualifications / Characteristics:

  • Strong skills in successful program management principles with emphasis on quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Strong industry knowledge of the hypersonics business space with focus on high temperature composites.
  • Financial skills and knowledge to understand drivers, contractual and non‑contractual issues.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strategic customer relationships and manage difficult customer situations.
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills, capable of presenting complex issues in a clear manner.
  • 5+ years of program management experience, including new product introduction, operational leadership, or 5+ years project engineering/management experience in aerospace.
  • Demonstrated communications experience with customers and facilitation of multiple levels and functions.
  • Bachelor’s of Engineering or equivalent; MBA preferred.
  • Technical background with experience in complex aerospace deliverables; direct composites or advanced textiles experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
Working Conditions

Office environment; duties performed indoors with moderate to quiet noise and comfortable temperatures. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental condition levels.

Physical Requirements

Occasionally must move an office item >10 lbs. Frequently moves about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainings, remains in a stationary position up to 75 % of the time, operates a computer and enters data into systems.
