Intec Automation Inc. is an established (25+ years of business) small automation company based in Rochester, NH that specializes in the design and building of custom automation equipment. To support our continued growth, we are looking for an energetic individual to serve as an Electro‑Mechanical Technician. The individual must enjoy problem solving and rarely build the same machine twice. The company needs a hands‑on, assertive, self‑motivated individual who is interested in professional development, sharing knowledge and enhancing the capabilities of co‑workers.
PositionResponsibilities
- Perform assembly, installation, and testing of electro‑mechanical systems and components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in production and prototype equipment.
- Read and interpret complex schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve build processes and resolve technical challenges.
- Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate records of repairs and modifications.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization.
- Train and mentor junior technicians as needed.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Build and troubleshoot single and three‑phase electrical systems.
- Diagnose, dismantle, repair, and reassemble complex equipment.
- Familiar with lean manufacturing concepts.
- Solid Works experience is beneficial.
- Assemble electronic and mechanical parts/assemblies on new equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
- Build and troubleshoot AC and DC panels.
- Field wire complex machines used across multiple industries.
- Participate in improving work instructions used by manufacturing.
- Train personnel in the use of test equipment as needed.
- Read dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance.
- Compare test results with specifications and make judgments on acceptability.
- Read and understand product drawings, schematics, and other graphical descriptions of electromechanical functionality.
- Adhere to policies of quality assurance, safety, biohazard control, and cleanliness.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure product meets performance specifications.
- Perform training of entry‑level and intermediate technicians.
- Travel may be required for machine installation or field troubleshooting.
- Experience with PLCs, sensors, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience.
