Position:
Construction Project Manager – Structural Site Work Data Centers

Location:

Base Office – Central NY (Syracuse, NY; Rochester, NY; Buffalo, NY) with U.S. project sites and travel as necessary

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management & Execution:
    Manage and oversee the structural construction phase of data center projects, ensuring foundations, steel frameworks, slabs, and other structural elements are completed per project specifications, quality standards, and schedule.
  • Design, Engineering & Procurement Coordination:
    Lead coordination of structural design, engineering, and procurement with the design team, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure timely delivery and issue resolution.
  • Plans, Schedules & Budgets:
    Develop, maintain, and enforce project plans, schedules, and budgets for the structural scope of work; monitor progress and address deviations.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Act as the primary point of contact for all structural-related matters, liaising with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure alignment and issue resolution.
Schedule, Budget & Quality
  • Prepare and manage detailed structural project schedules, including long-lead procurement items and milestones; coordinate with other trades.
  • Track costs and ensure structural work is delivered within budget; review and process contractor/subcontractor invoices ensuring alignment with the budget and schedule.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control reviews to ensure compliance with design, codes, and best practices; enforce safety and environmental standards.
Risk, Change & Team Leadership
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to the structural scope (safety, design issues, material delays, subcontractor performance).
  • Oversee the change order process with modifications integrated into schedule and budget; resolve conflicts related to design, site conditions, or contractor performance.
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors; coordinate with the design team to maintain constructability and meet client specifications.
Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in construction project management focused on structural construction.
  • Proven experience managing structural construction projects in data centers, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, or similar mission-critical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design, engineering principles, and construction practices (foundations, steel, concrete, etc.).
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project) for schedule and cost tracking.
  • Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and structural codes (AISC, ACI, IBC).
  • Preferred: PMP or similar certification.
  • Experience with Uptime Institute Tier standards and mission-critical facility design.
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
  • Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and its application in structural construction.
