Overview
Join the Gates Chili Central School District as a School Psychologist and help empower students, teachers, and families to foster positive self‑esteem, resilience, and mental health.
PositionSchool Psychologist – Full‑time (10‑month or 12‑month calendar).
PurposeUnder the general supervision of the building administrator and the director of pupil services, support students, teachers, and parents/guardians in maximizing educational experience through psychological assessment, therapy, and culturally safe practices.
CompensationPay range: $43,500 (negotiable based on experience).

Full‑time – 7 hours 40 minutes per day, 10‑month or 12‑month calendar; includes a 35‑minute duty‑free lunch.
Essential Functions- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic examinations of students.
- Provide individual, group, or facilitative therapy.
- Assist with identification and placement of exceptional students.
- Coordinate with administrators and stakeholders to assess student needs.
- Attend meetings as required for students with special needs.
- Serve as consultant on mental health and child psychology and conduct in‑service programs.
- Maintain accurate record‑keeping of student information.
- Encourage parent involvement and effective communication with students and families.
- May serve on Committee on Special Education or Building Resource Team.
Perform other tasks assigned by the principal or central office administrators.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Child psychology principles, assessments, behavior modification, and current developments.
- Data information systems, data analysis, and formulation of action plans.
- Applicable federal and state education laws.
- Computer network systems and software applications.
- Organize and coordinate work.
- Effective communication with students and parents/guardians.
- Self‑evaluation, professional growth, cultural awareness, and cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Certification/License: NY State School Psychologist certification (required).
- License:
Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide own transportation. - Education:
Bachelor’s in education or related discipline;
Master’s or Ph.D. in Psychology. - Experience:
Prior experience preferred; experience with a diverse population of students desired.
Standard office and school building environment; travel to district buildings and professional meetings as required.
