Tenure-Track Faculty – Assistant Professor, Computer Engineering, Rochester Institute of Technology

RIT’s Department of Computer Engineering invites applications from highly motivated individuals to join a diverse, vibrant community of teacher-scholars as a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Successful candidates are expected to build a strong externally-funded research program, advise Ph.D. and master’s students, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate classes, advise undergraduate researchers and design teams, and work collaboratively to advance the goals of the department. Candidates should have research expertise in Edge AI, Heterogeneous Computing, Networking and IoT, or Quantum Computing.

• Establish an independent, externally-sponsored research program in Edge AI, Heterogeneous Computing, Networking and IoT, or Quantum Computing.
• Advise Ph.D., master’s, undergraduate students and undergraduate research design teams.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and develop curriculum in computer engineering.
• Contribute to a student-centered, collegial, collaborative, ethical, and innovative academic environment.

• Doctorate in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Ability and commitment to effectively teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Record of disseminating scholarly research in peer-reviewed publications.
• Demonstrated evidence of experience or potential to establish an independent externally-sponsored research program.
• Expertise in Edge AI, Heterogeneous Computing, Networking and IoT, and/or Quantum Computing.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Interest in working in a collaborative, collegial environment.
