Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) invites applicants for a non‑tenure‑track Lecturer position in the Graphic Design undergraduate program located at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) College of Art and Design.
OverviewThe successful candidate will teach four courses a term, including studio and lecture courses, participate in innovative curriculum development, render service to the school, college and university, and advise and mentor undergraduate students.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate studio and lecture courses in Graphic Design.
- Contribute to curriculum development and innovative teaching practices.
- Render service to the School of Design, College of Art and Design and RIT.
- Provide career advising and mentoring to undergraduate students.
- Participate in professional organizations and scholarship activities.
- MFA/MA in Graphic Design or a graduate degree in a related field.
- Minimum of two years full‑time professional experience in graphic design and/or a related design field.
- Teaching experience at the university level (college‑level adjunct or teaching assistant experience acceptable).
- Fluency in practice areas such as Typography, Information Design, Experiential Design, Systems Design, Interactive Design, Web Design, Motion Design, Packaging Design, etc.
- Solid understanding of software and ability to teach necessary skills (Adobe, Figma, AI tools, etc.).
- Demonstrated proficiency in graphic design theory and practice.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
