Minimum Requirements
- NYS Certified Teacher
- Building Substitutes must first be hired as a regular Certified Substitute Teacher. Please ensure you ve applied to both positions if you don t currently hold the Certified Substitute Teacher title with the District.
- The District will continue to offer building assignment opportunities to unit members who have been approved as substitutes and are on the current substitute list. Building substitute assignments will not be available to Uncertified Substitute Teachers.
- A building assignment will be for the entire school year. A unit member who accepts such a position will be assigned to one (1) building and expected to report each day to that building. It is understood that while the unit member will report to the same building each day, the teacher they substitute for may not be the same each day.
- The rate of compensation for a substitute with a building assignment in the 2024-25 school year will be as follows:
- $175.00 per day for Certified Substitute Teachers; and
- $195.00 per day for Certified Career Substitute Teachers
- In the event that there are no teachers absent, then the building assigned substitute will be utilized as needed to support students. The rate of pay will be the same as outlined above.
