Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Special Education Teacher. This is a full-time contract position.

Ideal candidates will possess New York State certification. Candidates with out-of-state certification will be considered. Experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Education or have completed a teacher certification program. Salary will be calculated based on possession of certification, years of experience, and possession of a Master  Degree.

Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is a public charter school, primarily serving students from the city of Rochester. Over 90% of our students identify as an individual of color. We are a college preparatory school and use data to determine how best to foster student growth. RACS seeks to prepare all graduates for active citizenship.

Ideal candidates share the belief that all students have the right to high-quality education and that restorative practices apply to all members of the school community. We are seeking teachers who are self-directed, committed, and independent. RACS teachers are team players who work collaboratively, including when planning curriculum. Candidates should know or be ready to learn responsive lesson planning practices.

Base pay range: $49,000.00/yr - $61,000.00/yr

RACS offers full benefits to employees including New York State Teachers  Retirement, health, and dental benefits. Enhanced benefits include life insurance and short-term disability coverage at no cost to the employee.

We are a Title I school, so candidates are eligible for the TEACH grant and Public Service Loan forgiveness. In addition, RACS will support teachers and staff with tuition assistance when pursuing a degree relevant to their work.
