On Call Substitute

SANY's Citizenship and Science Academy of Rochester is excited to announce the opening of an On-Call Substitute for the  academic year. We are looking for an on‑call substitute teacher willing to work in kindergarten through 4th grade. We have a great environment for new teachers and encourage experienced teachers to apply!

As an On-Call Substitute, you will:

Assist with preparation and instruction

Work closely with small groups of students and provide intervention

Actively participate in weekly meetings and attend all school‑wide events

Implement classroom policies and procedures

Lead students to and from specials/lunch

Effectively manage student behavior

Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Certification is preferred but not required.

Experience with a diverse population of students or in an urban setting is a plus

Prior teaching experience is preferred and novice teachers are encouraged to apply!

Fingerprint clearance through the NYS Department of Education

Growth mindset, flexible and ok with change

Intrinsically motivated

A strong conviction that all students can succeed

The ability to take feedback well and immediately implement

Comfortable with the use of data and analytics to help drive instruction and promote learning
