Mechanical Design Engineer

M/EEngineering (now Salas O’Brien Consulting and Engineering Group of New York, Inc.) is interviewing for a Mechanical Design Engineer in our Rochester, NY office. We are a growing full-service MEP engineering firm providing design and technology services to our clients. • Performs assignments designed to develop skills of the Project Engineer/Design Engineer.
• Utilizes engineering principles and standard designs to develop project designs and layouts.
• Works with Senior Engineer, Project Engineer, Group Manager, Partner, Associate, and or Principal.
• Independently performs assignments after instructions as to the general results expected.
• Receives guidance on unusual problems and supervisory approval on developed plans.
• Assists in the preparation of contract documents.
• Plans, schedules, and conducts all phases of the work in a partial or a total project of moderate scope.
• Performs conventional engineering work including standard designs.
• Makes engineering calculations.
• Develops elementary designs expanding on detailed schematic sketches.
• Coordinates production and coordination with Senior Engineer/Designer or Project Engineer/Designer.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

• Associate degree, Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CAD (Revit) experience preferred.

• The compensation range for this position is $62,400 to $72,500 per year.
