will join our Advanced Manufacturing department

As our new Sr. Controls & Automation Engineer you will be part of a team that supports all aspects of control system life cycles across the diverse industries and systems of our varied clients.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
  • Control Systems design:
    Lead hands‑on, detailed design efforts on assigned projects from initial information gathering through final implementation. Collaborate with other disciplines and participate in design reviews. Verify system performance requirements are met.
  • PLC and HMI programming:
    Write original, well‑structured code and make changes to existing code. Use sound design practices to generate full system visualization, reporting, and alarming.
  • Architecture configuration:
    Configure industrial Ethernet networks. Configure physical and virtual computer hardware/software. Create interconnections to client networks.
  • Commissioning and site work:
    Lead the start‑up, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing of equipment both locally and at customer sites. Field‑tune systems and control algorithms. Troubleshoot non‑functioning control systems.
  • Documentation:
    Contribute to and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Generate process control narratives and contribute to equipment Operation & Maintenance manuals.
  • Project management:
    Regularly update the Controls/SCADA portion of project plans. Work proactively with Project Managers to address issues related to project schedule, budget, or scope and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Organizational improvement:
    Act as a leader to support, promote, and improve department standards for design and programming. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor and train junior engineers.

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or greater in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in control system integration and SCADA programming. Years of experience may offset educational requirements.
  • Experience programming HMIs;
    Inductive Automation's Ignition is Preferred, and experience with multiple platforms (Rockwell Automation, Wonderware, GE, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience configuring industrial networking systems and related hardware (primarily Ethernet-based).
  • Experience configuring computers, workstations, or servers in control systems.
  • Advanced knowledge and programming experience on the Rockwell Automation Logix 5000 platform; experience with multiple PLC platforms (Rockwell Automation Logix 500, GE, Siemens, etc.) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in either Machine Control or Process Control; both areas are a plus.
  • Knowledge of control system design, including electrical principles and hardware design.
  • Additionally, experience with any of the following skills is a plus: virtual machines, MES, Linux, Hyper‑V, ESXi, SQL, Python,…
