Water Engineer

Role Description

We are searching for a Staff Water Engineer to support and grow our Water team in Syracuse, NY. This candidate will use their expertise and technical knowledge to deliver design work for water/wastewater clients in New York and across North America. The candidate for this position must have a valid US driver’s license as it will be necessary driving to field sites as needed.

• Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of projects for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance (pipelines, treatment, and pumping facilities).
• Perform fieldwork activities such as site visits, construction inspection, sampling, water quality analyses, asset inventory, flow monitoring set‑up and monitoring, technology evaluations, plant operations information, process troubleshooting and optimization.
• Support professional engineering services during construction including construction observation, review of shop drawings, responses to request for information (RFI’s), and permit closeouts.
• Manage tasks as a project resource, completing allocated activities to meet budget, timeframe and quality objectives and meeting or exceeding client expectations.
• Liaise with Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients to ensure effective communication on project matters; contribute to resolution of technical issues on projects and provide technical guidance to other team members; collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure integrity of the overall design or solution; review completed engineering work to ensure it meets specified standards; further develop understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of the client’s business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to develop personal credibility in the industry.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ of experience in engineering AND EIT Certification.

• New York PE License.
